Section 01 / Programme

The build programme: which skip bin, when.

Every build moves through stages, and every stage produces different waste. Plot the bin against the programme and you won't be swapping bins mid-trade.

Section 02 / Waste schedule

What goes in a construction bin.

The schedule below is your quick reference. Heavy waste needs a call first. For anything not listed, check what can go in a skip bin.

Section 03 / Heavy waste

Heavy construction waste: call first.

Bricks, concrete and tiles weigh far more than furniture. Tell us what you're loading and we'll pick the bin.

Why heavy waste needs a phone call.

A bin full of concrete or bricks is far heavier than the same bin full of timber offcuts or packaging. Telling us the waste type up front means the bin we send suits the load, and it can be collected safely when you're done.

  • Tell us the waste type when you book
  • Estimate how much you have, in trailer loads or wheelie bins
  • We'll recommend the right bin and how to load it
  • Never load above the top edge of the bin

Call 0411 131 044 and describe the load. We'll tell you which bin suits it.

Section 06 / FAQs

Construction skip bin questions.

The questions we get from builders and site managers. Still stuck? Call 0411 131 044.

01 What size construction skip bin do I need?
Most builders use a 6m³ for single-trade strip-outs, an 8m³ for multi-trade sites with bulky waste, and a 10m³ for whole-house renovations and larger building sites. If you're between sizes, go one up rather than overfill. See the build programme above for a stage-by-stage guide.
02 Can I swap a full bin for an empty one during a build?
Yes. Call 0411 131 044 when the bin is full and we'll book the swap. Tell us early in the day if you can, because same-day delivery is available in many suburbs but not all.
03 Can construction skip bins take bricks, concrete and tiles?
Yes. Bricks, concrete and tiles are heavy, so tell us roughly how much you have when you book and we'll recommend the right bin. Don't load heavy waste above the top edge of the bin. See the heavy waste guide.
04 Do you arrange council permits for construction skip bins?
Yes. A permit is only needed if the bin goes on the nature strip or road. Bloom arranges it for you and is accredited with every council in our service area. The permit cost depends on the council and is added to your final invoice. See council permits.
05 Can I put asbestos in a construction skip bin?
No. Asbestos needs a licensed removalist and can't go in any Bloom skip bin. If you suspect asbestos on site, stop work and call a licensed removalist. See what can go in a skip bin for other restricted items.

Got a site ready? Let's programme the bin.

Tell us the stage, the waste type and the suburb. We'll recommend the bin, arrange the permit if you need one, and give you the full price upfront.
